Brompton + Long Items
Even with a small folding bike, you can transport large items. You just have to know how.
At the Beach with Fattyres
The Fattyres really look great on the sand. Here they are alongside a Unimoke.
Fishing by Bike
Anyone who takes fishing seriously knows the problem. The really good spots are rarely right next to the parking lot. Most of the time, you have to go a little further—down a dirt road, across a meadow, along a path by the water. And then you just have to haul your gear: rod cases, tackle boxes, a chair, a bucket, a backpack. If you’re carrying a lot, you’ll have to haul it all at once or make several trips.
Family bike ride with the Tern GSD and a bike trailer
Which is better, a cargo bike or a bike trailer? We have a preference, but we’ll say it anyway: both! Because here we see another great example of how cargo bikes and trailers can complement each other perfectly. On a family bike ride, the question always comes up: who’s going to carry all the luggage, and don’t the kids want to ride on their own sometimes? But what happens if they can’t bike the whole way? Who gets to ride the bike then?
But we also see lots of other great uses in these lovely photos from the H. family. Who’s going to haul the Tern away when it needs to go to the shop? The trailer.
Transporting Firewood with a Bicycle Trailer
Here at Hinterher, we’re well-known for being big fans of the Hxxxl light model. That’s because this bike trailer is a real workhorse and perfectly suited for everyday use. Our customer Philipp uses it exactly as intended—as a true workhorse. Shown here with the especially sturdy stainless steel drawbar and our own stainless steel coupling system.
Logistics Without Traffic Jams: The Hxxxl in Heavy-Duty Configuration
In light of high gas prices and traffic gridlock in city centers, more and more delivery drivers are switching to bicycles. There are many reasons for this: endless traffic jams, the difficulty of finding parking, and a shortage of drivers with a driver's license.
Street Astronomy in Belgium
We’re actually a little proud: The Royal Observatory of Belgium is celebrating its 200th anniversary and has come up with a special way to bring astronomy directly to the public for this occasion. Spontaneous “pop-up events” are now taking place on the streets of Brussels, where curious passersby can take a look through highly sensitive telescopes for free.
Silently Through the Hunting Grounds: Bike Trailers for Hunting and Forestry
More and more hunters want to ride their bikes and e-bikes into the forest. But how can they transport their rifles, dogs, and later their game? With a bike trailer. Here we present two models that can be perfectly configured for use in the forest.
A Sea of Lights in Zurich: Our Bike Trailer at the Räbeliechtli Parade
We receive mail from Switzerland from time to time, but this time there was a particularly lovely tradition behind it. In many Swiss communities, especially around Zurich, children walk through the dark streets in November carrying “Räbeliechtli.”
Bike trailer instead of a delivery van
In the skilled trades, there are plenty of situations where you’d prefer to do without a delivery van—and the traffic jams and hassle of finding parking that come with it. And since a trailer allows you to continue using your existing bicycles, the upfront costs are much lower than those for cargo bikes.
Four in a Row: A Road Train for Parking Day
Road trains are usually something you only see in Australia, where those long truck convoys are the ultimate nemesis for cyclists. In comparison, a road train you’re riding behind is relatively harmless, but of course it’s quite a sight.
200 kilometers, 6 people, a trailer: Traveling through Switzerland with colorful boxes
When you pack up all the camping gear for two weeks and six people, you quickly end up with a mountain of luggage. Stefan solved the problem with an Hxxxl and, in anticipation of the trip, painted the Euroboxes in bright colors beforehand. Not only does it look great, but it also helps keep everything organized at camp.
DIY Dog Tags
Today we had a very special visitor, even though the occasion was a bit sad. A family from the Allgäu stopped by with their Hxxxl and the DIY kennel they’d built with so much love for their Bernese Mountain Dog.
Bicycle Trailer with Suspension
The first bike trailers featuring our new suspension system are now on the road. The great thing about our design with the aluminum chassis is that you don’t have to buy everything new when we make improvements. We just had a few older models here in the workshop the other day and simply retrofitted them with the new suspension.
When Standard Isn't Enough: The Heavy-Duty Trailer for Large Dogs
At first, the task seemed simple: a bicycle trailer for two large dogs, each weighing 30 kg. However, anyone who looks around the market will quickly realize that a combined live weight of 60 kg is already well beyond the weight limits of standard dog trailers.
A Journeyman's Piece on Two Wheels: The Mobile Workbench
There are some projects that really catch our eye in the workshop. For her journeyman’s project, Lucia Thockok chose our trailer as the base and built a “Mobile Workshop in Ash” on top of it. Not only does it look great, but it also won an award right away at the “Die Gute Form” competition in Kleve.
Euro pallets and straw bales: When the car is too small (and too good to use)
There are some hauls that even a station wagon can’t handle—either because the cargo area is too narrow for Euro pallets or because you don’t feel like spending weeks vacuuming straw out of the upholstery. Alex from Seevetal faced exactly this problem after planting three large fruit trees. His solution: a thoughtfully loaded Hinterher trailer that brought the bulky return cargo back to the nursery neatly and efficiently.
The 200-Kilo Project: “Driftwood Logistics” at the Breaking Point
When we talk about “heavy-duty,” we usually mean professional use involving loads around the 100-kg mark in continuous operation. But what Peter is doing in the Lech Valley with his various Hinterher bike trailers is raising the bar. His goal: to collect driftwood. What’s impressive is that Peter doesn’t use an e-bike; instead, he relies entirely on his own muscle power and a conventional touring bike.
