Bike & Boat

A canoe on a Hinterher bicycle trailer boat cart with a folding bike from Tern

“Hello Hinterher Team,

I hope you and your business are doing well!

Last August, you were kind enough to let me try out your prototype boat trailer. Thanks for that! — It's a great piece of equipment.

Since then, I have gone on several day trips and, most recently in June, a 4-day solo canoe trip down the Ems River through the nature reserve from Warendorf to Rheine (approx. 85 km, staying overnight at campgrounds and canoe clubs).

They used their boat trailer for this, and it performed its tasks flawlessly—whether it was going around weirs, taking shortcuts around less interesting stretches of the river, or on the return trip from Rheine.

Overall, it has worked very well. It's very convenient to extend the axle tubes to adjust the width to match that of the canoe.

You can imagine how surprised passersby looked when I paddled my canoe up to two pharmacies in Greven to get a COVID test, with the canoe in tow behind my bike.

About the Equipment

- The canoe is a PakCanoe 150 that is 4.80 m long

- Bike: Tern Vectron S10 with an electric motor, so I don't have to carry all that weight by myself...

All the best to you, and I hope you have a relaxing summer!

Best regards from Bike&Boat
