Biketransporter in Bordeaux
Things are happening in France!
In some French cities, such as Paris and Bordeaux, it’s very clear to see what’s possible when a city administration or policymakers establish clear guidelines—in this case, in favor of bicycle infrastructure and policies that seek to curb motor vehicle traffic. A restructuring and redistribution of urban space then takes place with astonishing speed and consistency, and the city clearly becomes a much better place to live. Unfortunately, very little of this is evident in Germany, as politicians feel they must bow to the massive lobbying interests of the automotive industry and the supposed will of tens of millions of drivers. Back and forth, to and fro—the necessary transition to climate-neutral cities can never work this way.
Antoine from Velotino sent us this photo from Bordeaux. It shows a Hinterher Transporter 5 bike trailer with a stainless steel drawbar and a retractable rear support to assist with loading.
