Anyone who, like us, develops high-quality components and tools for small production runs and manufactures them in Germany knows that quality simply comes at a cost. If we sold 100,000 bicycle trailers a year, our prices would be different, too. But there are other factors at play. Development and tooling costs are spread across many more trailers, materials can be purchased in larger quantities, and so on. So the Hinterher remains what it is: a functional piece of engineering for individualists. And when it replaces the car on many trips and opens up entirely new transportation options for the e-bike, its purchase price is really just one thing: “peanuts.”
