Unterwegs mit UPS
It's always nice to run into my own fans at work :-)
Our 500-liter Hinterher box trailers have been used successfully by UPS for several years now in Munich’s narrow, parking-clogged city center. As a result, we run into them every now and then and are sometimes amazed at the daily stresses they’re subjected to. For UPS and professional package delivery services, it’s crucial that the cost-benefit ratio be as favorable as possible. Professionals who scrutinize every detail and crunch the numbers aren’t served by an ultra-complex product that’s also incredibly prone to breakdowns. Some competitors’ vehicles have to go to the shop every week for maintenance or repairs. Not our trailers! They’re designed to be as simple and robust as possible; if anything goes wrong, everything can be repaired with minimal effort. Especially for professionals, there are no elaborate overrun brakes (these combinations travel very slowly and usually from house to house), no suspension (which would never be properly designed for such heavy loads anyway), no electric drive (which makes a trailer enormously more expensive and, moreover, very prone to breakdowns), and no other unnecessary bells and whistles.
Our box trailers are relatively light and therefore have an optimal ratio of curb weight to maximum payload. And their purchase price is unbeatably low (compared to electric-powered competitor products). All in all, a real hit—a typical “Hinterher,” as they say :-)
