Mobiles Kino: Ciné Vélo Cité
Sometimes you don't need solid walls to create great cinema—just a good idea and a sturdy frame. The project Ciné Vélo Cité (CVC) impressively demonstrates how to literally bring culture to the streets. As a mobile bicycle cinema and film lab, CVC travels to where people live: in the backyards, on the squares, and in the neighborhoods of Munich.
Born out of an EU project and developed in close collaboration with Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Kammerspiele, the Bike Cinema is the answer to the question of how we can reconnect with one another in public spaces. It’s a “lightweight infrastructure” that has everything you need for screenings and discussions right on board. We’re thrilled that our bike trailers serve as the foundation for the screen, projector, and technical equipment here. It proves once again: With the right trailer, the bicycle becomes a tool for a vibrant, social urban culture.

"Elementary Schools in Neuperlach: 3 Profiles of Students"
Fourth-graders from the three elementary schools in Neuperlach—on Kafkastraße, Rennertstraße, and Karl-Marx-Ring—are presenting their own schools under the professional guidance of the democraticArts filmmakers.
The idea for the film project originated at a meeting of Neuperlach’s school administrators organized by BildungsLokal Neuperlach.
As a result, the elementary schools on Kafkastraße, Rennertstraße, and Karl-Marx-Ring joined forces. They were united by the goal of countering reservations about elementary schools in Neuperlach by offering a glimpse into the diverse daily life at school. With democraticArts gGmbH on board, the film concept was then developed through a participatory process.
Fourth-grade students should have the opportunity to showcase their schools in a film with professional guidance. The target audience is the parents of future first-graders.
