Handcart included
You can convert the Hmax from a bicycle trailer to a handcart in just a few seconds. To do this, simply move the drawbar into a different position. Thanks to the integrated stand, you can also easily load or park it as a handcart.
Flat package
The Hmax can be folded into an extremely flat package in less than ten seconds. The wheels can be removed with a single click and securely fixed in two matching holes in the loading area. The drawbar is also very easy to remove. This means that the Hmax takes up hardly any space in the basement, trunk or when traveling, yet is immediately ready for use again.
Everything fits
The Hmax is the ideal size for most typical everyday transports. It can fit two crates of drinks or a fairly large grocery haul. Even bulky or extra-long items fit on the Hmax, as our customer example photos show.
Area of application & load capacity
You can configure the Hmax for three different areas of application and load capacities. The standard version comes with plastic axle mounts. With the upgrade, we reinforce the drawbar mount, install a rigid stainless steel axle held in place by two high-quality aluminum clamping blocks. The Hmax becomes even stronger with our heavy-duty drawbar system (SL). This increases the load capacity to a total weight of 80 kg.

Adjustable weight ranges
Wheels & tires
The high-quality Big Apple balloon tires from the German company Schwalbe come standard with the Hmax. However, in our configurator, you can find other tire models or even stronger wheels.
Boxes & Add-ons
Everything fits. This makes the Hmax uniquely flexible. We also offer custom attachments such as side panels, aluminum boxes, and bike transport rails.
Accessories
Who knows what the future holds? That's why the Hmax can be even better adapted for various ventures and needs with our extensive accessories. You can do it now or even in ten years, because the Hmax already has the necessary drill holes in its chassis for almost all accessories.

Why coose Hinterher
Rectangular loading area designed to meet industry standards for maximum compatibility with Euroboxes, folding crates, and Systainers.
Can be completely dismantled in 10 seconds and stored compactly.
Full-surface, play-free connections between drawbar and trailer instead of loose screw connections and material weakening. Axles made of stainless steel instead of aluminum. Attention to material compatibility through the use of high-quality plain bearings from IGUS.
Upright wheels that, unlike angled wheels, hardly splash water and dirt onto the trailer. No uneven wear on tires, axles, and bearings.
Strongest and most sophisticated coupling technology on the market, with a load capacity of up to 150 kg. No child trailer technology limited to 45 kg on cargo trailers!
Since 2012, Hinterher has been pushing boundaries of what is possible with biycle trailers with its unique modular system.
"Hinterher offers with the Hmax light a high-quality trailer that has been thought through down to the last detail. Its ease of handling is particularly impressive."

If something breaks
Each of our bike trailers is extremely easy to repair should a component ever be defective or worn. All components are easily accessible and replaceable with the simplest tools. All components are also available individually, even the industrial bearings of the wheel hubs.
Award-winning
We have received numerous awards for our innovative bike trailers and our sustainable business and production methods. Our bike trailers have also frequently undergone tests in the bicycle press. You can read press reviews here.
Regional manufacturing, sustainable business practices
Almost all components of the Hinterher are manufactured in our immediate vicinity. Only a small number of parts are sourced from Northern Italy and Sweden. Short supply routes, high environmental and social standards, local value creation, and outstanding technical expertise define our manufacturing approach.
Each Hinterher is assembled by our team in the west of Munich according to customer specifications. For shipping, we reuse cardboard and process it with our “green monster” into protective packing material. For us, true sustainability means building products that are made to last—and that can be repaired when needed.
FAQs
-
The Hinterher is very easy to pull. You will notice it most when starting off, but otherwise our bike trailers behave very neutrally. This is due to the low mounting of our trailers on the bike, which means that the riding dynamics are hardly affected.
Even when loaded, a Hinterher is easy to ride. Compared to cargo bikes in particular, even inexperienced cyclists find it easier to handle a trailer.
Please note that the same rules apply to riding with a trailer as to driving a car: ride carefully and adapt to the conditions! Carefully test the handling characteristics of your trailer in different scenarios to get a feel for its capabilities, but also its limitations. -
You only need to attach a Weber hitch to your bike's rear wheel axle once, or together with your bike's kickstand. The hitch then remains permanently on the bike. This allows the trailer to be connected to the bike with a 'click' in just a few seconds, anytime.
We use the high-quality Weber hitch 'Made in Germany,' which has been the gold standard in the cycling industry for many years and is designed to be extremely robust.
-
The good news: We can install a high-quality Weber hitch on almost any bike. Generally, there are two places where the hitch can be installed on the bike: on the rear wheel axle or together with the bike's kickstand, if it meets the requirements.
We are happy to advise you on choosing the right hitch. Please send us a photo of your rear wheel (taken from the left side in the direction of travel).
If you would like to check for yourself which Weber hitch might fit, you can look it up in our coupling guide (PDF) here.
