Traveling with a Dog

Julia enjoys traveling by bike with her dog and a lot of luggage. She has a model Hxxl bike trailer from us that’s equipped for heavy loads. In addition, the Hinterher was equipped with wheel guards that completely cover the wheels from the inside. This prevents the cargo—and especially the dog—from getting caught in the wheels. And, of course, this multifunctional bike trailer is also used for all kinds of everyday transport: from moving furniture to hauling bulky trash or yard waste from the garden.

Traveling by Bike with a Child

Anyone who goes on a cycling trip or a longer bike tour with kids knows the problem: The little ones want to ride on their own—until they no longer want to or can’t anymore. And then what? Fishing by Bike

Anyone who takes fishing seriously knows the problem. The really good spots are rarely right next to the parking lot. Most of the time, you have to go a little further—down a dirt road, across a meadow, along a path by the water. And then you just have to haul your gear: rod cases, tackle boxes, a chair, a bucket, a backpack. If you’re carrying a lot, you’ll have to haul it all at once or make several trips.

Family bike ride with the Tern GSD and a bike trailer

Which is better, a cargo bike or a bike trailer? We have a preference, but we’ll say it anyway: both! Because here we see another great example of how cargo bikes and trailers can complement each other perfectly. On a family bike ride, the question always comes up: who’s going to carry all the luggage, and don’t the kids want to ride on their own sometimes? But what happens if they can’t bike the whole way? Who gets to ride the bike then?

But we also see lots of other great uses in these lovely photos from the H. family. Who’s going to haul the Tern away when it needs to go to the shop? The trailer.
