From a kids' trailer to a cargo pro: The Gardena Hinterher Chariot Trailer
What comes after the two-seater? When the kids outgrow the classic child trailer, but the car has long since been scrapped, it’s time for custom-built solutions. Christian from Dresden faced exactly this challenge: Doing the weekly grocery shopping in the cramped child trailer was “less than ideal,” but he didn’t want to give up the familiar handling of a high handle and a sturdy jogger wheel for hikes.
The solution: A custom-built trailer based on our Hinterher axles and wheels, combined with a unique way to repurpose a handle (hint: snow shovel).
Suspension for saxophone
A professional musician came to us with a very specific request: He wanted to safely transport his valuable baritone saxophone to a performance by bike—without every bump in the road endangering the instrument’s delicate mechanics. Anyone who has ever held such an instrument in their hands knows that vibrations are the natural enemy of precision. A special bike trailer for transporting a special musical instrument.
When a pony replaces a bike: A very special Hxxl
Usually, the roles are clearly defined for us: A bike trailer belongs behind a “bike.” But every now and then, customers come to us with ideas we would never have thought of ourselves. In this case, the question was: Can we modify an Hxxl bike trailer so that it can be pulled by a Shetland pony?
Expedition Australia: A Special Trailer for the Outback
One of our customers has set herself an extraordinary goal: to travel 1,800 kilometers across the Australian Outback. For this adventure, we had the privilege of building a custom-made expedition trailer that is pulled like a rickshaw using a comfortable hip belt.

The Foldable Home: A Lightweight Bicycle Trailer
When people think of a bicycle trailer, they often picture heavy, bulky structures. Peter has solved this problem with flying colors: His homemade design, based on a Hinterher chassis, weighs only about 30 kg, including the mattress. This not only saves your calves and the battery, but also reduces wear on the brakes during downhill rides. The best part: The entire bike trailer can be disassembled into five parts, so it fits even in the smallest basement.

Organ builder Jens Kirschner out and about with Hinterher in Hamburg! Things are slowly picking up—more and more craftsmen are getting into it. This box trailer isn’t part of our standard lineup, since the organ builder needed a very tall box. In principle, we can build a bike trailer out of any aluminum crate or box.
