The Lightweight
The Hmax light is the weight-optimized version of the Hmax. The load-optimized milling of the chassis floor saves 1.2 kg in weight. If you’re heading out on a long trip with your bike trailer and every gram counts, or if you frequently have to carry your bike trailer, we recommend the Hmax light. Its ratio of weight to load capacity is unbeatable. The lattice design offers numerous additional mounting options. Lightweight and sporty, it remains just as durable as the Hmax of the same size.

Handcart
You can convert the Hmax light from a bike trailer to a handcart in just a few seconds. To do this, simply reposition the drawbar. Thanks to the built-in stand, you can easily load it or park it when using it as a handcart.
Flat package
The Hmax light can be folded into an extremely flat package in less than ten seconds. The wheels can be removed with a single click and securely fixed in two matching holes in the loading area. The drawbar is also very easy to remove. This means that the Hmax light takes up hardly any space in the basement, trunk or when traveling, yet is immediately ready to use again.

Real-world examples
The Hmax light has the ideal size for typical everyday transport needs: beverage crates, groceries, and equipment usually fit perfectly on its loading area. However, it can also transport bulky or extra-long items.
Area of application & load capacity
You can configure the Hmax light for three different applications and load capacities. In the standard configuration, we install plastic axle mounts. With the upgrade, we reinforce the drawbar mount and install a rigid stainless steel axle held in place by two high-quality aluminum clamping blocks. The Hmax light becomes even stronger with our heavy-duty drawbar system (SL). This increases the load capacity to a total weight of 80 kg.

Suspension
If you’d like, you can also configure your Hinterher with suspension. This high-performance suspension system outperforms anything previously available for bike trailers and can handle loads of up to 100 kg. The suspension not only protects your cargo or your dog from bumps, but it also lets you ride with the trailer much more comfortably and quickly.

Each of our bike trailers is extremely easy to repair should a component ever be defective or worn out. All components are available individually, are easily accessible, and can be replaced with the simplest tools.

Regional manufacturing, sustainable business practices
Almost all components of the Hinterher are manufactured in our immediate vicinity. Only a small number of parts are sourced from Northern Italy and Sweden. Short supply routes, high environmental and social standards, local value creation, and outstanding technical expertise define our manufacturing approach.
Each Hinterher is assembled by our team in the west of Munich according to customer specifications. For shipping, we reuse cardboard and process it with our “green monster” into protective packing material. For us, true sustainability means building products that are made to last—and that can be repaired when needed.

The Hinterher is very easy to pull. You’ll notice it most when starting off; otherwise, our bike trailers handle very neutrally. This is due to the low mounting position of our trailers on the bike, which has virtually no effect on riding dynamics. Even when loaded, the Hinterher is surprisingly easy to ride. Compared to cargo bikes in particular, even inexperienced cyclists can handle a trailer more easily. Please note, however, that the same rules apply to riding with a trailer as to driving a car: Ride cautiously and adapt to the conditions! Carefully test your trailer’s handling in various scenarios to get a feel for its capabilities—but also its limits.

You’ll need to attach a Weber coupler to your bike’s rear axle—either on its own or together with your bike’s kickstand—just once. The coupler then remains on the bike permanently. This allows you to connect the trailer to your bike at any time with a single “click” in just a few seconds.
We use the high-quality Weber hitch 'Made in Germany,' which has been the gold standard in the cycling industry for many years and is designed to be extremely robust.

The good news: We can install a high-quality Weber hitch on almost any bike. Generally, there are two places where the hitch can be installed on the bike: on the rear wheel axle or together with the bike's kickstand, if it meets the requirements.
We'd be happy to advise you on choosing the right clutch. Please send us a photo of your rear wheel (taken from the left side as you face the direction of travel).
