Hxxl light
The lightweight all-rounder
The Hxxl light is the weight-optimized version of the Hxxl. Thanks to its load-bearing milling, it is almost two kilograms lighter without compromising stability. This bike trailer is easy to use in everyday life or on tours and yet has enormous transport capacity. Here, too, two practical Euroboxes (60 x 40 cm) from the warehouse fit perfectly behind each other on the loading area and can also be stacked vertically.
85 x 62 x 8 cm loading area (L x W x H)
10 kg total weight
20-inch wheels
Usable as a bike trailer and handcart as standard.
65 kg maximum total weight (100 kg with heavy-duty drawbar upgrade)

Handcart
You can convert the Hxxl light from a bicycle trailer into a handcart in just a few seconds. To do this, simply move the drawbar to a different position. Thanks to the integrated stand, you can also easily load or park it as a handcart.
Flat package
The Hxxl light can be folded into an extremely flat package in less than ten seconds. The wheels can be removed with a single click and securely fixed in two matching holes in the loading area. The drawbar is also very easy to remove. This means that the Hxxl light takes up hardly any space in the basement, trunk, or when traveling, yet is immediately ready for use again.
Everything fits
The Hxxl light has an extremely flexible and robust loading area. It can hold anything that fits on it. Crates, boxes, and bags cannot slide off thanks to the side edges. And you can also place bulky and oversized items on the loading area without unfavorably raising the center of gravity, precisely because the side edge is so low. We have optimized the Hxxl light for use with Euroboxes (60x40 cm). These ingenious boxes are available in a wide variety of heights and versions, for example from the Bavarian company AUER Packaging.
Area of application & load capacity
You can configure the Hxxl light for three different areas of application and load capacities. In the standard version, we install a rigid stainless steel axle held in place by two high-quality aluminum clamping blocks. The drawbar mount is also reinforced with a milled aluminum bracket. For even higher loads, you can switch to the particularly robust and heavy-duty drawbar system (SL), which can be either equipped with a robust aluminium drawbar or a high-end stainless steel drawbar.

Suspension
You can configure your Hinterher with our high-end suspension system. It stands in a class of its own and is far superior to the low-quality suspension systems found on most other trailers.
Enormous suspension travel for the worst roads
Hydraulic damping for smooth driving
Adjustable weight ranges
Boxes & Add-ons
It fits whatever fits on it. That's what makes the Hxxl light so unbeatably flexible. We also offer custom-made add-ons such as side walls, aluminum boxes, and bicycle transport rails.
Wheels & tires
The high-quality Big Apple balloon tire from German company Schwalbe comes standard on the Hxxl light. But you can find other tire models or even stronger wheels in our configurator.
Overrun brake
Every Hinterher trailer can optionally be equipped with an inertia (overrun) brake. This independent braking system automatically slows the trailer as soon as you apply the bicycle’s brakes. Especially when carrying heavy loads on a regular basis—whether for private or commercial use—the overrun brake provides a significant increase in safety and control.
Accessories
Who knows what the future holds? That's why the Hxxl light can be customized even better for a wide range of activities and needs with our extensive range of accessories. Now or even in ten years' time.

Why coose Hinterher
Rectangular loading area designed to meet industry standards for maximum compatibility with Euroboxes, folding crates, and Systainers.
Can be completely dismantled in 10 seconds and stored compactly.
Full-surface, play-free connections between drawbar and trailer instead of loose screw connections and material weakening. Axles made of stainless steel instead of aluminum. Attention to material compatibility through the use of high-quality plain bearings from IGUS.
Upright wheels that, unlike angled wheels, hardly splash water and dirt onto the trailer. No uneven wear on tires, axles, and bearings.
Strongest and most sophisticated coupling technology on the market, with a load capacity of up to 150 kg. No child trailer technology limited to 45 kg on cargo trailers!
Since 2012, Hinterher has been pushing boundaries of what is possible with biycle trailers with its unique modular system.
"The Hinterher is so full of clever ideas and solutions. You don't know which one to be most excited about."

If something breaks
Every one of our bicycle trailers is designed to be extremely easy to repair should a component ever become damaged or worn. All parts are easily accessible and can be replaced using basic tools. Every single component—even the industrial bearings in the wheel hub—is available individually from us.
Award-winning
We have received numerous awards for our innovative bike trailers and our sustainable business and production methods. Our bike trailers have also frequently undergone tests in the bicycle press. You can read press reviews here.
Regional manufacturing, sustainable business practices
Almost all components of the Hinterher are manufactured in our immediate vicinity. Only a small number of parts are sourced from Northern Italy and Sweden. Short supply routes, high environmental and social standards, local value creation, and outstanding technical expertise define our manufacturing approach.
Each Hinterher is assembled by our team in the west of Munich according to customer specifications. For shipping, we reuse cardboard and process it with our “green monster” into protective packing material. For us, true sustainability means building products that are made to last—and that can be repaired when needed.
FAQs
-
The Hinterher is very easy to pull. You will notice it most when starting off, but otherwise our bike trailers behave very neutrally. This is due to the low mounting of our trailers on the bike, which means that the riding dynamics are hardly affected.
Even when loaded, a Hinterher is easy to ride. Compared to cargo bikes in particular, even inexperienced cyclists find it easier to handle a trailer.
Please note that the same rules apply to riding with a trailer as to driving a car: ride carefully and adapt to the conditions! Carefully test the handling characteristics of your trailer in different scenarios to get a feel for its capabilities, but also its limitations. -
You only need to attach a Weber hitch to your bike's rear wheel axle once, or together with your bike's kickstand. The hitch then remains permanently on the bike. This allows the trailer to be connected to the bike with a 'click' in just a few seconds, anytime.
We use the high-quality Weber hitch 'Made in Germany,' which has been the gold standard in the cycling industry for many years and is designed to be extremely robust.
-
The good news: We can install a high-quality Weber hitch on almost any bike. Generally, there are two places where the hitch can be installed on the bike: on the rear wheel axle or together with the bike's kickstand, if it meets the requirements.
We are happy to advise you on choosing the right hitch. Please send us a photo of your rear wheel (taken from the left side in the direction of travel).
If you would like to check for yourself which Weber hitch might fit, you can look it up in our coupling guide (PDF) here.
