The compact low-loader

Everything fits

The foundation of our versatile Transporter series bicycle trailers is a highly flexible cargo platform. Unlike our smaller models with a continuous side rim, Transporter trailers are open at both the front and rear. This design allows even extra-long or especially bulky items to be carried with ease.

Thanks to multiple welded reinforcement plates, the Transporter models rank among our most robust bicycle trailers and are designed for daily professional use. Cleverly positioned cut-outs in the cargo bed reduce overall weight while also serving as loading aids for transporting multiple bicycles (Transporter 3 and 5).

Bike trailer, handcart, flat package

Each Transporter can be assembled into a flat package in seconds and stored upright to save space. The wheels can be removed with a click and snapped into two corresponding holes in the loading area. In addition to being used as a bike trailer, Transporters can optionally be used as a handcart and/or equipped with a lowerable front wheel.

Suspension

You can configure your Hinterher with our high-end suspension system. It stands in a class of its own and is far superior to the low-quality suspension systems found on most other trailers.

Overrun brake

Bike Drawbar

Every Hinterher trailer can optionally be equipped with an inertia (overrun) brake. This independent braking system automatically slows the trailer as soon as you apply the bicycle’s brakes. Especially when carrying heavy loads on a regular basis—whether for private or commercial use—the overrun brake provides a significant increase in safety and control.

Why coose Hinterher

Rectangular loading area designed to meet industry standards for maximum compatibility with Euroboxes, folding crates, and Systainers.

Can be completely dismantled in 10 seconds and stored compactly.

Hinterher for transporting loads can be folded up and stored extremely quickly.

Full-surface, play-free connections between drawbar trailer instead of loose screw connections and material weakening. Axles made of stainless steel instead of aluminum. Use of high-quality plain bearings from IGUS instead of corrosion-prone aluminum-aluminum connections.

Upright wheels that, unlike angled wheels, hardly splash water and dirt onto the trailer. No uneven wear on tires, axles, and bearings.

Hinterher for loads with straight camber and straight wheels

Strongest and most sophisticated coupling technology on the market, with a load capacity of up to 150 kg. No child trailer technology limited to 45 kg on cargo trailers!

Since 2012, Hinterher has been pushing boundaries of what is possible with biycle trailers with its unique modular system.

If something breaks

Every one of our bicycle trailers is designed to be extremely easy to repair should a component ever become damaged or worn. All parts are easily accessible and can be replaced using basic tools. Every single component—even the industrial bearings in the wheel hub—is available individually from us.

Various metal parts and screws, presumably machine parts.

Award-winning

We have received numerous awards for our innovative bike trailers and our sustainable business and production methods. Our bike trailers have also frequently undergone tests in the bicycle press. You can read press reviews here.

Regional manufacturing, sustainable business practices

Almost all components of the Hinterher are manufactured in our immediate vicinity. Only a small number of parts are sourced from Northern Italy and Sweden. Short supply routes, high environmental and social standards, local value creation, and outstanding technical expertise define our manufacturing approach.

Each Hinterher is assembled by our team in the west of Munich according to customer specifications. For shipping, we reuse cardboard and process it with our “green monster” into protective packing material. For us, true sustainability means building products that are made to last—and that can be repaired when needed.

FAQs

  • The Hinterher is very easy to pull. You will notice it most when starting off, but otherwise our bike trailers behave very neutrally. This is due to the low mounting of our trailers on the bike, which means that the riding dynamics are hardly affected.

Even when loaded, a Hinterher is easy to ride. Compared to cargo bikes in particular, even inexperienced cyclists find it easier to handle a trailer.

Please note that the same rules apply to riding with a trailer as to driving a car: ride carefully and adapt to the conditions! Carefully test the handling characteristics of your trailer in different scenarios to get a feel for its capabilities, but also its limitations.

  • You only need to attach a Weber hitch to your bike's rear wheel axle once, or together with your bike's kickstand. The hitch then remains permanently on the bike. This allows the trailer to be connected to the bike with a 'click' in just a few seconds, anytime.

We use the high-quality Weber hitch 'Made in Germany,' which has been the gold standard in the cycling industry for many years and is designed to be extremely robust.

  • The good news: We can install a high-quality Weber hitch on almost any bike. Generally, there are two places where the hitch can be installed on the bike: on the rear wheel axle or together with the bike's kickstand, if it meets the requirements.

We are happy to advise you on choosing the right hitch. Please send us a photo of your rear wheel (taken from the left side in the direction of travel).

If you would like to check for yourself which Weber hitch might fit, you can look it up in our coupling guide (PDF) here.

You can find even more questions in our extensive FAQs. Recommendations for the right bike trailer can also be found in our guide. Our gallery is also often helpful, where you can view photos of different models or themes.
