Hxxl
The great all-rounder
If you want to carry a little more in your life, take a closer look at the Hxxl. It’s about the size of a two-seater children’s bike trailer, yet it has enormous potential. We designed it so that two Euroboxes (60 x 40 cm) fit one behind the other (and on top of each other) on the cargo area. But it can also accommodate four beverage crates, a lawn mower, or gear for a big family trip. With our upgrades, you can configure the Hxxl into a true professional-grade trailer with a load capacity of over 100 kg.
85 x 62 x 8 cm loading area (L x W x H)
11.9 kg total weight
20-inch wheels
Usable as a bike trailer and handcart as standard.
65 kg maximum total weight

Handcart
You can convert the Hxxl from a bike trailer to a handcart in just a few seconds. To do this, simply reposition the drawbar. Thanks to the built-in stand, you can easily load or park it as a handcart.
Flat package
The Hxxl can be folded into an extremely flat package in less than ten seconds. The wheels can be removed with a single click and securely fixed in two matching holes in the loading area. The drawbar is also very easy to remove. This means that the Hxxl takes up hardly any space in the basement, trunk or when traveling, yet is immediately ready to be used again.
What would you like to transport?
Choose what you want to transport—we'll place your load to scale in the actual trailer and show you which model is the right fit. With the center of gravity over the axle and an optional drawbar extension.

2 Matching Pendants
Please note: We do not show the height of the load here. In practice, proper load distribution is also important. Errors in the illustration of the load are subject to change.
An open platform
The Hxxl has an incredibly flexible and sturdy cargo area. You can fit whatever fits on it. Thanks to the low side rails, boxes, crates, and bags can’t slide off. And you can also place bulky and extra-long items on the cargo area without raising the center of gravity in an unfavorable way—precisely because the side rail is so low. We’ve optimized the Hxxl for use with Euro boxes (60x40 cm). You can get these ingenious boxes in a wide variety of heights and styles, for example from the Bavarian company AUER Packaging.
Area of application & load capacity
You can configure the Hxxl for three different applications and load capacities. The standard configuration includes a rigid stainless steel axle held in place by two high-quality aluminum clamping blocks. The drawbar mount is also reinforced with a milled aluminum bracket. For even higher loads, you can switch to the particularly robust heavy-duty drawbar system (SL), which can be equipped with a sturdy aluminum drawbar or an exceptionally durable stainless steel drawbar.

Suspension
If you’d like, you can also configure your Hinterher with suspension. This high-performance suspension system outperforms anything previously available for bike trailers and can handle loads of up to 100 kg. The suspension not only protects your cargo or your dog from bumps, but it also lets you ride with the trailer much more comfortably and quickly.
Enormous suspension travel for the worst roads
Hydraulic damping for smooth driving
Adjustable weight ranges
Overrun brake
Any Hinterher trailer can be equipped with a so-called overrun brake upon request. This independent braking system ensures that the trailer slows down automatically as soon as you brake on your bike. Especially when used frequently with heavy loads—whether for personal or commercial use—the overrun brake offers a significant safety advantage.
Accessories
Who knows what the future holds? That's why the Hxxl can be customized even better for a wide variety of activities and needs with our extensive range of accessories. Now or even in ten years' time.

Why coose Hinterher
Rectangular loading area designed to meet industry standards for maximum compatibility with Euroboxes, folding crates, and Systainers.
Can be completely dismantled in 10 seconds and stored compactly.
Full-surface, play-free connections between drawbar and trailer instead of loose screw connections and material weakening. Axles made of stainless steel instead of aluminum. Attention to material compatibility through the use of high-quality plain bearings from IGUS.
Upright wheels that, unlike angled wheels, hardly splash water and dirt onto the trailer. No uneven wear on tires, axles, and bearings.
Strongest and most sophisticated coupling technology on the market, with a load capacity of up to 150 kg. No child trailer technology limited to 45 kg on cargo trailers!
Since 2012, Hinterher has been pushing boundaries of what is possible with biycle trailers with its unique modular system.
"The Hinterher is so full of clever ideas and solutions. You don't know which one to be most excited about."

If something breaks
Every one of our bicycle trailers is designed to be extremely easy to repair should a component ever become damaged or worn. All parts are easily accessible and can be replaced using basic tools. Every single component—even the industrial bearings in the wheel hub—is available individually from us.
Award-winning
We have received numerous awards for our innovative bike trailers and our sustainable business and production practices. Our bike trailers have also been tested frequently in the trade press. You can read press reviews here.
Regional manufacturing, sustainable business practices
Almost all components of the Hinterher are manufactured in our immediate vicinity. Only a small number of parts are sourced from Northern Italy and Sweden. Short supply routes, high environmental and social standards, local value creation, and outstanding technical expertise define our manufacturing approach.
Each Hinterher is assembled by our team in the west of Munich according to customer specifications. For shipping, we reuse cardboard and process it with our “green monster” into protective packing material. For us, true sustainability means building products that are made to last—and that can be repaired when needed.
FAQs
-
The Hinterher is very easy to pull. You’ll notice it most when starting off; otherwise, our bike trailers handle very neutrally. This is due to the low mounting position of our trailers on the bike, which has virtually no effect on riding dynamics. Even when loaded, the Hinterher is surprisingly easy to ride. Compared to cargo bikes in particular, even inexperienced cyclists can handle a trailer more easily. Please note, however, that the same rules apply to riding with a trailer as to driving a car: Ride cautiously and adapt to the conditions! Carefully test your trailer’s handling in various scenarios to get a feel for its capabilities—but also its limits.

You’ll need to attach a Weber coupler to your bike’s rear axle—either on its own or together with your bike’s kickstand—just once. The coupler then remains on the bike permanently. This allows you to connect the trailer to your bike at any time with a single “click” in just a few seconds.
We use the high-quality Weber hitch 'Made in Germany,' which has been the gold standard in the cycling industry for many years and is designed to be extremely robust.
-
The good news: We can install a high-quality Weber hitch on almost any bike. Generally, there are two places where the hitch can be installed on the bike: on the rear wheel axle or together with the bike's kickstand, if it meets the requirements.
We'd be happy to advise you on choosing the right clutch. Please send us a photo of your rear wheel (taken from the left side as you face the direction of travel).
If you would like to check for yourself which Weber hitch might fit, you can look it up in our coupling guide (PDF) here.
