On the Way to Portugal
Cycling trips always involve making sacrifices and stripping things down to the essentials. Of course, you can’t take everything from home with you. But our trailers help you pack the things that make traveling and camping a little more comfortable.
Euro pallets and straw bales: When the car is too small (and too good to use)
The 200-Kilo Project: “Driftwood Logistics” at the Breaking Point
When we talk about “heavy-duty,” we usually mean professional use involving loads around the 100-kg mark in continuous operation. But what Peter is doing in the Lech Valley with his various Hinterher bike trailers is raising the bar. His goal: to collect driftwood. What’s impressive is that Peter doesn’t use an e-bike; instead, he relies entirely on his own muscle power and a conventional touring bike.
Chiemsee by Bike and Boat
Why is it great to go to the lake by boat and bike? You don't have to fight for one of the few parking spots for cars, and you can get to the best spots along the water.
The Foldable Home: A Lightweight Bicycle Trailer
When people think of a bicycle trailer, they often picture heavy, bulky structures. Peter has solved this problem with flying colors: His homemade design, based on a Hinterher chassis, weighs only about 30 kg, including the mattress. This not only saves your calves and the battery, but also reduces wear on the brakes during downhill rides. The best part: The entire bike trailer can be disassembled into five parts, so it fits even in the smallest basement.
The Glamorous “Tin Car”
Anyone who wants to transport a tuba will quickly run into limitations with conventional trailers. It’s not so much about the weight itself, but rather the instrument’s large dimensions and its unique center of gravity. This testimonial from Karl Schwerzer, an instrument maker from Petersaurach, shows that our Hxxxl-Light, paired with the right aluminum case, offers a solution.
Brompton + Hinterher Hmini
The new Brompton G-Line, with its 20-inch wheels, is perfect for real adventures—and our trailers are the ideal companion for turning this compact folding bike into a full-fledged cargo bike for a big trip (or everyday transport). The best part: Not only does the bike fold down small, but our trailer can also be disassembled in minutes and fits easily on a bus, train, or in your luggage. Miriam and Vincent have shown exactly how it’s done, proving that “small and foldable” and “large luggage” aren’t a contradiction.
Ranger and Entourage
A custom-made trailer makes it possible: The Greifensee Foundation’s rangers transport their canoe to the water by bike.
Microadventures for All Ages: The Bicycle-Powered Tent Trailer
How can we give young families ideas for a sustainable future? Peter Arnold from the Gänseblümchen e.V. association and inndustrees.de has come up with a very practical solution: two homemade bicycle-tent trailers that show just how easy it can be to escape the daily grind.
A Second Life for the Drawbar: The Handcart from Seevetal
It never ceases to amaze me what our customers do with “leftover” parts. Alexander from Seevetal upgraded his bike trailer to the heavy-duty version and, without further ado, turned the old drawbar into the centerpiece of a new project.
Adventure Trailer
Here at Hinterher, we use our bike trailers for just about everything to save ourselves the hassle of lugging things around—and mountain climbing is definitely one of those things.
Hmax in Sweden
Dan from Sweden apparently also uses his Hmax bike trailer to transport his tree-trimming tools. Aluminum box, ladder, loppers…
When the Car Gives Out: Transporting a Refrigerator
“Dear Hinterher Team,
—I wouldn't have been able to fit that in my car!”
Cycling is pure efficiency—it’s fast, affordable, and clears your head. But many people think that freedom comes to an end when you have bulky items to carry. That’s true at some point, but with the versatile Hxxxl light, you can push that limit much further.
