Mail from the Coast
It’s always nice to hear that our trailers are an integral part of people’s vacation plans. The Prinz family sent us warm greetings again this year—little Hmini was along for the ride once more.
Work first, then wine
Who needs a car when you can bring 54 bottles of Palatinate wine home on two wheels? Through his photos, Martin shows us how he uses his van—sometimes to haul yard trimmings from the garden, and other times as the base for a full piggyback rig.
Hot Lunch Delivered by Bike Trailer
In Bremen, Caritas has been proving for five years now that delivering daily meals to daycare centers doesn’t have to be a job for a delivery van. There, hot lunches roll effortlessly to their destination on two wheels.
From Sea Level to 4,000 Meters: Thomas Oschwald
Swiss adventurer Thomas Oschwald has been our toughest product tester for years. This time, his journey took him from the coast all the way up to over 4,000 meters. He took along our Hinterher Hmax, configured as a hiking rickshaw with a built-in drum brake.
DemokRADtie Tour: With Music and 1,250 km Under Our Belts
Singer-songwriter Erik Stenzel is currently on a very special journey. His project, the DemokRADtie Tour, is taking him across the country—always by bike, with his equipment in tow. We’re thrilled that a Hinterher trailer is part of this rolling adventure and is helping Erik bring his music and messages directly to the people.
Our New Dog Taxi
Sometimes things don't go as planned—even when it comes to choosing a dog. Malisch, the Samoyed, was actually supposed to be my athletic companion on bike rides.
Firewood with Hmax
Load the long firewood into the car? No, there's a much easier, faster way—and it's less messy and causes less damage.
Hamburg Police Department
Police Precinct 11 in Hamburg has a new addition: The Hamburg Police Association (Polizeiverein Hamburg e.V.) donated a bicycle trailer to Precinct 11, which will be used as a mobile information booth throughout the neighborhood.
When Standard Isn't Enough: The Heavy-Duty Trailer for Large Dogs
At first, the task seemed simple: a bicycle trailer for two large dogs, each weighing 30 kg. However, anyone who looks around the market will quickly realize that a combined live weight of 60 kg is already well beyond the weight limits of standard dog trailers.
130 kilometers a day: On a youth camp trip with a van and “some” luggage
Typically, a large recreational bike trip with teenagers looks like this: The group rides, while a van or bus follows behind, transporting the heavy luggage, food, and tents from one stop to the next. Maximilian’s account shows us that there’s another way—namely, being completely self-sufficient and relying solely on muscle power.
Plenty of packages…
It can hold a lot. Our large box trailer for package transport, equipped with a trailer brake system.
On the Way to Portugal
Cycling trips always involve making sacrifices and stripping things down to the essentials. Of course, you can’t take everything from home with you. But our trailers help you pack the things that make traveling and camping a little more comfortable.
A Journeyman's Piece on Two Wheels: The Mobile Workbench
There are some projects that really catch our eye in the workshop. For her journeyman’s project, Lucia Thockok chose our trailer as the base and built a “Mobile Workshop in Ash” on top of it. Not only does it look great, but it also won an award right away at the “Die Gute Form” competition in Kleve.
Euro pallets and straw bales: When the car is too small (and too good to use)
There are some hauls that even a station wagon can’t handle—either because the cargo area is too narrow for Euro pallets or because you don’t feel like spending weeks vacuuming straw out of the upholstery. Alex from Seevetal faced exactly this problem after planting three large fruit trees. His solution: a thoughtfully loaded Hinterher trailer that brought the bulky return cargo back to the nursery neatly and efficiently.
The 200-Kilo Project: “Driftwood Logistics” at the Breaking Point
When we talk about “heavy-duty,” we usually mean professional use involving loads around the 100-kg mark in continuous operation. But what Peter is doing in the Lech Valley with his various Hinterher bike trailers is raising the bar. His goal: to collect driftwood. What’s impressive is that Peter doesn’t use an e-bike; instead, he relies entirely on his own muscle power and a conventional touring bike.
Chiemsee by Bike and Boat
Why is it great to go to the lake by boat and bike? You don't have to fight for one of the few parking spots for cars, and you can get to the best spots along the water.
The Foldable Home: A Lightweight Bicycle Trailer
When people think of a bicycle trailer, they often picture heavy, bulky structures. Peter has solved this problem with flying colors: His homemade design, based on a Hinterher chassis, weighs only about 30 kg, including the mattress. This not only saves your calves and the battery, but also reduces wear on the brakes during downhill rides. The best part: The entire bike trailer can be disassembled into five parts, so it fits even in the smallest basement.
The Glamorous “Tin Car”
Anyone who wants to transport a tuba will quickly run into limitations with conventional trailers. It’s not so much about the weight itself, but rather the instrument’s large dimensions and its unique center of gravity. This testimonial from Karl Schwerzer, an instrument maker from Petersaurach, shows that our Hxxxl-Light, paired with the right aluminum case, offers a solution.
